About Cat Loots
What first attracted you to the graphic design industry?
I’ve always believed in a fluidity between the creative disciplines. Having studied illustration, I never really planned on making the move to graphic design, but I’ve had plenty of opportunities to get the pencils out within the realms of the job and the two skill sets work hand in hand.
How did you join Creative Graffix?
I was on the job hunt after finishing up university – anything in the creative industry was a bonus. I punted an email on the off-chance and the rest is history.
What are the main challenges and what is most rewarding about your role?
The job is most rewarding when we’re working with people who are truly passionate about what they do. Enthusiasm is contagious and some of the best work comes from working alongside those that have a real drive and determination – it definitely filters through! The challenge always seems to be trying to balance the plates and make time for creative work in and amongst admin.
What are you hoping to achieve in the future?
In terms of work, more illustration. Good things happen when graphic design and illustration come together and I’d like to push further in the direction of combining the two.
What's an interesting fact about you?
When I’m not at work, I’m in the workshop with my other half, crafting bespoke homeware & jewellery pieces from broken skateboards and reclaimed wood. Either that or out on the Scottish hills. We’re so lucky to have what we do on the doorstep and I try to make the most of that.
