Identity toolkit for RSPB's 'Wild Dundee' project.
Project Objective.
RSPB were looking to develop a distinct visual identity and toolkit for their Wild Dundee program. They wanted to establish a meaningful connection with the Dundee community and promote nature conservation and climate consciousness in urban environments, by working collaboratively with grassroots organisations and community groups, including Ninewells, universities, NHS Tayside and others.
The initiative required flexible artwork and identity materials for community engagement and events. Our role was to design event-ready assets — including roller banners and supporting visuals — that communicated the overarching Wild Dundee identity while allowing for future adaptation.
Our Approach.
We adopted an illustrative approach to create a unique visual identity for the project, designed to connect with the Dundee community in a fresh and adaptable way, while ensuring consistency and longevity across all materials.
We used a slightly unconventional colour palette, taken from the wider RSPB brand palette and combined with hand-drawn illustrations to offer a unique visual language. The use of colour serves to evoke a fresh perspective, encouraging viewers to see familiar scenes in a new light.
